At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, our technology partner CARIAD launched a new uniform app store in cars from the Volkswagen Group, and the Vivaldi browser will be included in the app lineup.
Great to have the Vivaldi Open Browser in the store and enable Audi drivers to get full web access in their cars,“ Sven Eckoldt, Partnerships Lead Group Store at CARIAD, says.
The first browser on Android Automotive OS, the Vivaldi browser is becoming available on a growing list of cars. The full-featured automotive browser has a similar interface to that of our browser for Android smartphones, while giving you complete control over how it looks, feels, and works.
We’re proud to partner with CARIAD to give drivers the best in-car internet experience. With Vivaldi, you can access the web at large. Vivaldi’s robust functionality and unique user interface lets you do more of everything you love – faster, easier, and safer,” Vivaldi co-founder and CEO, Jon von Tetzchner, says.If you’re waiting for your car to charge, out with the kids, or doing last-minute prep before a business meeting, you can access the web easily with Vivaldi,” he adds.
Because we believe in transparency, privacy, and responsible innovation, we offer built-in features such as an ad blocker, notes function, tracking protection, and encrypted sync functionality. Safety features are also in place to ensure you get a powerful web browser experience in cars, complete with tabbed browsing, streaming abilities, and more. Its unique user interface with a scalable zoom has been specially designed for big and small screens.
Other supporting integrated third-party services in the CARIAD platform will include Spotify, TikTok, Yelp, and Webex, by Cisco.
As part of CARIAD’s Open Ecosystem, Vivaldi will initially be available in selected Audi models as of July 2023.
